I’m Freedom Lenon, born and raised in the vibrant, diverse streets of Los Angeles, CA and the founder of Freedom Cooks. For me, food has never been just about feeding people. It’s about connection, culture, and creating unforgettable moments around the table.

How It All Began

At 19, fresh out of high school with no clear direction, I found myself cooking for friends and strangers at a house gathering in the Hills. The moment I saw everyone laughing, talking, and connecting over my food, I felt something I hadn’t in years… a sense of home. That night changed everything.

I launched Freedom Cooks from my Instagram account, offering weekly “Bomb Plates,” homestyle meals that let people taste my vision. Word spread fast. Family, friends, and even strangers believed in me before I fully believed in myself, and that support became the foundation of my business.

More Than a Business… A Community

From intimate three-course dinners to Hollywood red carpet events, Freedom Cooks has grown into more than a catering company… it’s a community. We’ve created a space where food is an experience, culture is celebrated, and every guest feels like family.

My style is rooted in Filipino, Asian, and Islander flavors, inspired by LA’s melting pot of cultures. Every menu is fully customizable because I believe food should be as unique as the people enjoying it.

Overcoming Challenges

The path here hasn’t been easy. I started without a professional kitchen or formal culinary training. Two years in, I faced the devastating loss of my best friend, one of my biggest supporters and inspiration. I channeled my grief into my craft, honoring her with every dish I create and living by her fearless motto: “If you want it, go get it.”
